One dead and ten injured: this is the tragic outcome of the huge accident on the A12 between Rapallo and Chiavari, towards Livorno, which occurred shortly before 7am today, Tuesday 6 January in which several cars were involved. Several ambulances and 118 medical vehicles, the firefighters and the traffic police intervened on site. The collision involved a truck and four cars, as Secolo XIX reports. Two were seriously injured .
The section was closed between Lavagna and Chiavari towards Genoa to allow the air ambulance to land and to allow the emergency services to intervene. According to what we learn, it seems that a car traveling in the direction of Genoa invaded the oncoming lane . Two people, thrown to the ground, were apparently hit by oncoming vehicles and did not have time to brake. One of these died instantly.
Only light vehicles headed towards Livorno, after the mandatory exit at Rapallo, where a 4 kilometer queue has formed, can re-enter the motorway at Lavagna after having traveled along ordinary roads. Furthermore, the entrance to Chiavari was closed in both directions. Autostrade per l'Italia staff and all emergency vehicles were also present at the scene of the accident.
