Even the street vendors who sold Calcio Napoli products had ended up in the grip of the Camorra extortionists: the investigative suspicion, which had made its way in the months in which the team was preparing to win the scudetto, was confirmed in the investigations which led to handcuffs four people , accused of having extorted traders and of having collected the money during the celebration for the championship.
The investigations were carried out by the soldiers of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Naples and coordinated by the Dda of Naples. According to the findings, the four, believed to be linked to a criminal group in the area, would have imposed protection money on several traders in the Fuorigrotta district, in the western outskirts of Naples; they would also have forced the victims to sell contraband cigarettes supplied by them, dictating the price and methods of sale.
The precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the investigating judge of Naples at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, was carried out by the Carabinieri today, 31 January. The suspects are accused of continued extortion with the aggravating circumstances of the mafia and the use of weapons.
