“I beg you, I beg you, don't hurt me, let me go…”. These were the words with which the 13-year-old raped last January 30 in the public bathrooms of Villa Bellini in Catania attempted to dissuade the members of the pack, made up of seven boys, three of whom were minors, of Egyptian origin. The rape by two members of the group took place in front of the eyes of the victim's 17-year-old boyfriend, who was held down by the other five boys.
The raped 13-year-old identified the two minors who committed the rape. The recognition occurred during an American-style confrontation with the seven members of the pack. The girl, however, was unable to identify the other 5 who would have been part of the group, stating that she had not seen their faces and did not want to accuse the innocent. Contributing to the identification of the other 5, in addition to one of them who collaborated with the investigators, was also the boyfriend of the 13-year-old who was forced to witness the rape while he was held still.
