This morning, Wednesday 28 February , the Police returned a wheelchair that had been stolen from a girl during a burglary in a house that took place in Udine on the night of 23 February. The medical device – used by the young woman who lost a leg in an accident about ten years ago – was found by the agents of the Flying Squad of the Udine Police Headquarters during an inspection of the area.

The wheelchair was found near a makeshift bed on the side of a road. In recent days the victim of the theft, a girl called Laura Bassi , had also launched an appeal on social media: “It's a custom-made wheelchair, not something I can buy back at the supermarket, but an aid that requires a long bureaucratic process and time. quite long in construction. Leaving aside any ethical considerations regarding the theft of a medical aid, I like to think that they stole it because it was really needed by someone they know .”

The girl's mother reported the theft of the wheelchair and other objects, such as jewelery and silver coins, to the police of the Udine company on Monday 26 February .
