The Ministry of Health has announced the immediate withdrawal from the market and the recall from store shelves of two lots of Multigrain Bars due to possible microbiological risk for consumers due to the suspected presence of weeds . The two recall notices dated March 5 were released yesterday by the Ministry of Health's web portal dedicated to safety notices and recalls of food products by operators.

The product subject to the recall is only the Cerealitalia Multigrain Bars produced and packaged by the Cerealitalia ID Spa company in its production plant in Frigento, in the province of Avellino. Two lots were affected by the notices: one concerning the Multigrain Bars – Extra dark chocolate and coconut flavor and one relating to the Multigrain Bars – Classic Flavor.

The bars recalled from the market are sold in packs of 126 grams, each containing 6 individual pieces of 21 grams each. The subject of the recall are those belonging to batches number L23150 with a minimum shelf life set at 30 May 2024 (classic flavour) and number L23236 with a minimum shelf life set at 24 August 2024 (extra dark chocolate and coconut flavour).

In the catering and agri-food supply chain, when we talk about pests we are referring to all animals that can contaminate food through direct or indirect contact. These are usually insects that can somehow come into contact with food products, contaminating them.
