Two very lively stoats will be the mascots of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They made their debut this evening on the stage of the Sanremo Festival.
The mascot with the light coat is called Tina and will represent the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Milo, her brother with the brown coat, will instead be the testimonial of the next Paralympic Winter Games. Their names are the diminutives of those of the two protagonist locations: Tina from Cortina, Milo from Milan. Through the collaboration between the Organizing Committee and the Ministry of Education, students from primary and lower secondary schools were involved.
A path born from over 1600 ideas presented and the subsequent professional and design development of the selected solution. Last year, again on the Ariston stage, Amadeus and Gianni Morandi opened the survey to express their preference between the snowdrops created by the very young people of the Sabin Comprehensive Institute in Segrate (Milan) and the ermines proposed by the Taverna Comprehensive Institute, in the province of Catanzaro.
In the stages approaching 2026, Tina and Milo will not be alone: accompanying them will be their adventure companions, the six little snowdrops “I Flo”. The little flowers, sketched in a first phase by the students of the Sabin Comprehensive Institute, and also professionally developed in terms of graphics and design, will be Tina and Milo's best friends on the adventure towards Milan Cortina. Accompanying Tina and Milo on their official debut in Sanremo were Federico Barra, representing the Istituto Comprensivo di Taverna, and with him in the room the President of the Organizing Committee of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Giovanni Malagò.
